Temperature and weathering

CM are speciality elastomers that can be crosslinked either by curing agents or irradiation leading to parts with fair flexibility, resistance to heat, oils and fuels, ignition, chemicals, low temperatures and weathering. 

PC/AES grades are modified to reach a good balance of impact resistance, particularly at low temperature, and weather resistance. Performances are comparable with those of PC/ABS alloys.

Cellulose acetate butyrate, CAB, is used for toys, pen and pencil barrels, decorative plaques, tool handles and machine guards. The use of adhesives in building construction imposed exacting requirements upon quality and application techniques [92] - [98]. In addition to durability and resistance to mechanical stress, temperature and weather resistance are prime requirements. In prefabricated construction, the use of adhesives was an important requirement for efficient assembly techniques.

The fuel, ozone, low temperature, and weathering resistance of epichlorohydrin are ideal properties for a curb pump hose. In addition, the static dissipative properties, especially when a conductive carbon black is used, add to the safety of the hose. The EPA low-fuel vapor transmission requirements may dictate an FKM veneer lining, to which GECO will adhere, as well as being a low fuel transmission elastomer itself.
