Deborah Corrigan is a senior lecturer in Science Education and Associate Dean (Teaching) at Monash University. After working as a Chemistry and Biology teacher for 10 years, she has worked at Monash for 14 years in Chemistry and Science Education, particularly in teacher preparation. Her research interests include industry and technology links with chemistry curricula, which has included an active involvement in many vocational chemistry programs for students and teachers. She also researches in the area of documenting professional practice for teachers and other industry professionals. 

The purpose of a three year study of the program is to develop a teacher enhancement model which does five things (1) encourages teachers to intentionally reflect on how they teach (2) broadens teacher s societal perspectives of technology and how technology interrelates with mathematics and the sciences ...

Naturally, with the flood of new computer technology came the need to train the research scientists in its use. Whereas ChemDraw running on a Mac was so easy that medicinal chemists could learn to use it after an hour or less of training, the VAX was a little more formidable. One of the authors (DBB) was involved in preparing and teaching VAX classes offered to the medicinal chemists and process chemists at Lilly.
