Technical terms glossary

See the Glossary for a definition of "reactivity" and numerous other technical terms. 

Use ic as a nontechnical encyclopedia. The glossary in the back has nearly 300 technical terms and is blessedly nontechnical. And if you cant find what you need in the index at the very end of the book, you should have gone to engineering school because you now have a job where you re in over your head. 

Terms set in bold type throughout the text can be found in the Glossary of Technical Terms. 

A variety of technical terms are used throughout this manuscript. Most of these terms are familiar and known by those who have worked in the petroleum industry for a few years. The purpose of providing this glossary is to focus on the terminology and definitions which are the most useful when describing fuel performance problems.

This chapter is organized into three main sections providing discussions on the chemistry of fire and explosion, and the chemistry of hazardous materials. The last section of this chapter provides the reader with an extensive glossary of technical terms dealing with chemical hazards and hazard materials handling. 

A large number of technical terms are associated with the literature on batteries the more common of these are given in the Glossary, while the electrical quantities used to describe battery performance and characteristics are defined in Section 2.5, and summarized in Appendix 4.
