Technical plant system applications

The explanations of details of equipment, processes, systems, plants, and applications as well as the descriptions of products and of their uses are largely based on information from vendors, the experience of the author as well as input from many of his colleagues that are active in this field. Therefore, it was decided that it is not necessary to collect the numerous individual publications that, in one way or another, report on technical and practical developments and review specific industrial features, applications, and products. Rather, with the exception of a few annotations (Section 13.2), reference is made to books or major chapters dealing with all facets of agglomeration and related subjects (Section 13.1) and to the vendors (Section 14.1) who, either by direct communication or through their technical sales literature and/or brochures, supplied the information that has been processed by the author to yield an unbiased presentation. [Pg.525]

In other cases, the multi-channel system will offer new functionalities like integrated gas, fluid or power transport. A very interesting application in the building industry would be the use of the side channels for incorporating pultruded carbon composite rods. The carbon rods could be incorporated and fixed during the pultrusion process of the technical plant stem under a certain pre-tension load. The use of the technical plant stems as... [Pg.306]

Many of the predictive systems manufacturers are strictly hardware and software oriented. Therefore, they offer minimal training and no application training or technical support. Few plants can achieve minimum benefits from predictive maintenance without training and some degree of technical support. It is therefore imperative that the selected system or system vendors provide a comprehensive support package that includes both training and technical support. [Pg.805]

Fluoride can also be removed from a centralized water treatment point. This is common in developed or countries in economic transition and provides a longterm solution to fluoride problem in drinking water. A full-scale water purification plant based on AA-adsorption media was reported to be in operation in Kansas, USA. In this technique, all water to the distribution system is treated irrespective of its intended use. Thus, it is unrealistic way of defluoridating water since the main concern is usually fluoride ions contained in drinking water. From the technical point of view, however, centralized water treatment guarantees the quality of drinking water since the performance of the defluoridation plant can easily be monitored. Wider application of this technique for the sole purpose of removing fluoride from water is not widely reported in literature. [Pg.43]
