Task redesign

Administrative controls — Using procedures and methods that significantly reduce exposure to hazards by altering the way in which work is performed (e.g., job rotation, alternative tasks, redesign of work methods, and rest breaks). 

Fitting analysis. For this to be possible, an assembly sequence plan must be constructed and the difficulty of assembling each part in the sequence rated using the design for assembly analysis tables. Difficult assembly tasks and non-value added processes are revealed as candidates for correction by redesign. Simple concepts such as the ability to assemble in a layer fashion can result in major cost savings. 

Dramatic improvements in computer technology have fostered the development of unique web-based approaches to curriculum delivery, Several programs offer virtually all didactic coursework via the Internet, and nearly all NTPD programs are gravitating toward this new educational tool. Some programs have found it necessary to contract with private corporations to assist with the rather daunting task of redesigning their entire curricula to an online, interactive format. 

This interface is a mock-up with which all relevant activities can be performed. However, the mock-up cannot be connected and used with the full-functional AHEAD system. As can be seen from Fig. 5.52 some menu items were eliminated by the software-ergonomic review and redesign. Later on, problems with incomplete destruction of agent and weapon bodies and a damaged heat exchanger were experienced and then resolved over the next 16 months. An important task during that period was the redesign of the donor explosives system. The use of the revised designed system solved the problem of incomplete destruction of agent.
