Tablet preparation, from roller compacted

Schiller M, von der Heydt H. Marz F. Schmidt PC. Enhanced processing properties and stability of film-coated tablets prepared from roller-compacted and ion-exchanged Eschscholtzia califomica Cham. Dry extracts. STP Pharm Sci 2003 13 111-7. [Pg.333]

Other herbal materials prepared by roller compaction included St. John s wort (22) and Eschscholtzia californica Cham (23). Tableting of the granulated extract markedly reduced the problems associated with dust and material feed as well as the incidence of capping. Tablets produced from granulated extracts disintegrated three limes faster than those tabletted from the powder blend. Hygroscopicity of . californica Cham, extracts decreased after roller compaction due to decreased material surface area. [Pg.318]

Figure 5 shows the results of the authors study on the ability of NIR to monitor the scale-up from the laboratory Carver Press to the Fitzpatrick roller compactor. Because the NIR signal is influenced by changes in the physical and mechanical properties, multivariate data analysis techniques were used to identify and separate these contributions in the overall NIR signal. A flat-faced rectangular die and punch set, 40 x 15 mm in size, was fitted on the laboratory Carver Press to prepare tablets similar in shape and size to the roller compacted samples. [Pg.256]
