System integrator claims

Each organisation involved must understand the system level (see Chapter 6) of their part of the assessment, and how it interfaces with the other levels. Any safety integrity claims of a part of a system (e.g. COTS parts, assemblies or subsystems) without considering the whole (e.g. the aircraft) should be viewed with scepticism. 

Integrate nutrient removal in SBR is successfully achieved similarly as in continuous flow systems. It requires multiple fill and react phases during one cycle, with successive periods of aeration and anaerobic or anoxic mixing. It is claimed (Artan et al. 2001), that no biological conversion is assumed to occur during settle, draw and idle phases. The processes take... 

The scope is briefly outlined of Chemmate 3.1 from Atrion International, which integrates environmental modules obtained through the company s acquisition of Chemtox and Environmental Software Associates. The software system, which is directed to the environmental, health, safety and transportation sector is claimed to be the first commercially available end-to-end regulatory compliance management solution. 

The vendor claims the technology is easily portable, can be integrated with other systems, and can operate over a wider variety of air sparging conditions. 

Berry has never claimed that farmers of the past, conventional or organic, have ever achieved true harmony with nature or sustainability. He simply states that harmony in nature, as with harmony in society, must be achieved through loving relationships. The permanence of food and farming systems depends upon personal relationships of integrity and trust among farmers, farm workers, eaters and citizens within local communities. 

Equation (62) incorporates two more familiar claims as special cases. In the limit of long switching times the system has time to equilibrate at every stage of the switching procedure then Eq. (62) reduces to the result of numerical integration along the path prescribed by the switching operation [cf. Eq. (37)]... 

The results of INDO are apparently very similar to those of CNDO when the same set of approximations are used to calculate common integrals. Indeed, the choice of approximations to be used in the (M)INDO method are, as in the other schemes, dictated by the objectives of the method (or the authors preference). The MINDO method is especially parameterized to calculate heats of formation and MINDO/2 85>, which has been specially reparameterized, claims both heats of formation and bond distances. Both of these methods are also suitable for the calculation of open shell systems. An additional approximation, however, was made in order to achieve this, namely that an electron can be treated as half an electron pair (i.e. two halves of one electron). 

In the second chapter, Anil Agiral and Han J.G.E. Gardeniers take us to a fascinating world wherein "chemistry and electricity meet in narrow alleys." They claim that microreactor systems with integrated electrodes provide excellent platforms to investigate and exploit electrical principles as a means to control, activate, or modify chemical reactions, or even preparative separations. Their example of microplasmas shows that the chemistry can take place at moderate temperatures where the reacting species still have a high reactivity. Several electrical concepts are presented and novel principles to control adsorption and desorption, as well as the activity and orientation of adsorbed molecules are described. The relevance of these principles for the development of new reactor concepts and new chemistry is discussed.
