Syringaresinol-coniferyl alcohol

On the other hand, biosynthetic pathways that do not involve the conversion from coniferyl alcohol to matairesinol have been proposed for lignans composed of two syringyl (3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl) groups (+)-syringaresinol formation in Liriodendron tulipifera [50] and (H-)-lyoniresinol biosynthesis in Lyonia ovalifolia var. elliptica [51]. Seed contains 50-79% starch, 16-19% proteins, 2-7% flxed oil, lipids (5.67% glycoli-pids, 1.83% phospholipids, sterols, fatty acids, such as palmitic, stearic, oleic, and linoleic acids, etc.), thiamine, amino acids, adenosine and trace minerals, among others. Coixenolide (ca. 0.25%) and coixol have been isolated from the flxed oil coixans A, B, and C (glycans with 2.4%, 33.5%, and 3.1% peptides, respectively) from the aqueous extract and feruloyl stigmasterol and feruloyl cam-pesterol are two of the sterols isolated.
