Supply dial

FIGURE 13. Comparison of pulsed GC-AA output continuous UV detection output. The pulsed output was obtained using a 0.85 ml injection at 382-ppm trimethylarsine. The power supply dial was set at 2000 °C and the pulse program was set to give a 7-s pulse on a 30-s interval. The background corrector of the detector was not employed and, as indicated by the arrow, molecular absorption of the 193,7-nm EDL-As can be detected. The continuous output was obtained using 0.20 ml of 2536-p.p.m. trimethylarsine with the furnace at ambient temperature and very low attenuation of signal to the recorder... [Pg.203]

Even experienced communications professionals sometimes forget that an overloaded telephone exchange cannot supply dial tone to all customers at once. Emergency calls wiU often go through if callers wait patiently for dial tone. If callers do not hear dial tone after 10 or 15 min, it is safe to assume that there is a more significant problem. [Pg.2399]

Comparison of the observed surface and gas temperature in a silica-lined furnace with power supply dial setting. [Pg.462]

The results obtained for maximum temperature obtained with a power supply dial setting of ISOO C (usually 90 s after initiating power to furnace) are shown in Figure 190. [Pg.462]

These workers showed that the maximum temperature which could be maintained indefinitely by the furnace was represented by a power supply dial setting of about 2000°C. Above this setting, the furnace tended to overheat and the power cables became quite warm. In addition, they were interested in controlling the pyrolitic and sorption chemistry associated with the analytepassing through the furnace. [Pg.466]

Eaeh oil drain shall be supplied with a sight flow indieator and 4.5 in. dial diermometer. [Pg.318]

Within the FCC plant shown in Figure 6-43, eatalyst is eontinuously eireulated between die reaetor and die regenerator. In die regenerator, earbon dial was deposed on die eatalyst is burned off, with eombustion air being supplied on a eontinuous basis. Reaetivated eatalyst from die regenerator is mixed widi FCC feedstoek and dien remrned to die reaetor. [Pg.382]

Barcol Indenter. The Barcol hardness tester is a hand-held, spring-loaded instrument with a steel indenter developed for use on hard plastics and soft metals (ASTM D2583) (2). In use the indenter is forced into the sample surface and a hardness number is read direcdy off the integral dial indicator calibrated on a 0 to 100 scale. Barcol hardness numbers do not relate to nor can they be converted to other hardness scales. The Barcol instrument is calibrated at each use by indenting an aluminum alloy standard disk supplied with it. The Barcol test is relatively insensitive to surface condition but may be affected by test sample size and thickness. [Pg.467]

Suppose that a semiconductor of thickness L is contacted with an electrode that, hy virtue of a low-energy barrier at the interface, is able to supply an unlimited number of one type of carrier. The current is then limited by its own space charge which, in die extreme case, reduces the electric field at the injecting contact to zero. This is realized when the number of carriers per unit area inside the sample approaches the capacitor charge, i.e. sso/e. It is this number of carriers dial can be transported per transit time ttr=d/fji. Hence, the maximum current is iscL = s,E,QfiF ld. A more rigorous treatment has to take into account the non-uni-form distribution of space charge and, concomitantly, electric field [34]. Starting with Poisson s equation and the continuity equation. [Pg.379]

After the war-time demand had ceased, other applications of the paint were made and quickly became popular. Now, in addition to watch and clock dials, luminous paint is used to mark street signs, door plates, push buttons, or almost anything that may need to be located in the dark. The amount of radium used in this manner has been enough to cause serious concern in regard to the future supply, but the largest use of radium at present is in treating cancer. [Pg.77]

Set the voltage dial on the power supply to minimum and turn on the power supply. [Pg.85]
