Supercritical SILP catalysis

It must be also noted that supported ionic liquid phase (SILP) catalysis can also be successfully combined with supercritical fluids. Cole-Hamilton et al. [127] have reported recently high activity (rates up to 800 h ), stable performances (>40 h) and minimum rhodium leaching (0.5 ppm) in the hydroformylation of 1-octene using a system that involves flowing the substrate, reacting gases and products dissolved in... [Pg.98]

A summary of the research activities of the last four years reveals three different important trends (a) The design of new ionic ligands for excellent catalyst immobilisation in ionic liquids and high regioselectivity (b) the successful application of cheap, halogen-free ionic liquids in the biphasic Rh-catalysed hydroformylation (c) the successful development of unusual multiphasic reaction concepts for Rh-catalysed hydroformylation, namely catalysis in ionic liquid/supercritical C02 and SILP-catalysts. [Pg.210]

In particular the recent investigation as part of the project Smart Sol-vents/Smart ligands of the SLPC with PEG and ionic Hquids ( SILP ) as the catalyst carrier opened up new possibihties for the immobihzation of homogeneous catalysts. By increasing the stabihty of the catalytic performance, this concept may have the potential to be kept in mind for industrial catalysis in combination with environmentally benign supercritical or compressed carbon dioxide. In addition, this methodology is able to provide access to some chemical applications and processes because of the easy and facile preparation of the coated materials. [Pg.11]
