Variation in the Structural, Magnetic, and Superconducting Properties of YBa2Cu307 x with Oxygen Content... [Pg.140]

Figure 4. Effect of oxygen content on the superconducting properties of YBa2Cu307 y. Figure 4. Effect of oxygen content on the superconducting properties of YBa2Cu307 y.
The high-Tc compound YBa2Cu3(>7 j crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pmmm (No. 47) with Ti 91K for 0 < 3 < 0.2 (Table 4.2-17). The superconducting properties depend on the oxygen content 7 — 5. Oxygen loss on the e site [0(1) in YBa2Cu307] leads to a destruction of the Cu—O chains. For 3=1 only linear coordinated Cu(l) atoms are present. [Pg.723]

Superconducting Properties The intrinsic superconducting properties which are independent of the microstructure are the lower and the upper critical field, Hd and respectively and the superconducting transition temperature Tc- These superconducting properties depend on the composition, especially the oxygen content (Table 4.2-23). Further... [Pg.731]

The strongly anisotropic shape of the crystallites favors the development of a texture parallel to the surface of the Ag tube in powder-in-tube (PIT) processing, and this is highly desirable for the superconducting properties. The Ag content also serves as a source of pinning centers that hinder the flux line motion. [Pg.336]
