Brossas and coworkers 350) have reported that reactions of oligomeric organo-lithium compounds with elemental sulfur (S8) in benzene (PLi/Sg = 2) yield primarily coupled products (ca. 80%) with 3-4 sulfur atoms in the bridge (Eq. (91)).
