Sulfide aromatic

Solvents are recovered from the oil stream through distillation and steam stripping in a fractionator. The stream extracted from the solvent contains high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide, aromatics, naphthenes and other hydrocarbons, and is often fed to the hydrocracking unit. 

Weakly adsorbed Alkenes, mercaptans, sulfides, aromatics, and halogenated aromatics... 

Monomers bearing these functional groups must also be thermally stable. The main types of chemical compounds used are imides, aromatic ether sulfones, aromatic sulfides, aromatic esters, aromatic ketones or... 

The molybdenum catalyst 2 has been used extensively for ADMET polymerization. This complex is easier to handle than the tungsten analog and is more tolerant of functionality. This complex has allowed the synthesis of polymers containing esters, carbonates, ethers, sulfides, aromatic amines, boronates, dichlorosilanes, siloxanes, acetals, and conjugated carbon-carbon double bonds [38-45]. Aldehydes, ketones, and protic functionahty are not tolerated. The molybdenum alkylidene will react with aldehydes and ketones, but not esters, in a Wittig fashion [64]. 

In 1998, Fukuyama reported on the cross-coupling of thioesters with zinc reagents to give unsymmetrical ketones (Scheme 5-101). The advantages are high chemoselectivity, mild reaction conditions, and the use of less-toxic reagents. One asset of this method is that the reaction stops at the ketone and does not proceed to a tertiary alcohol. In addition, the protocol is compatible with functional groups such as ketones, acetates, sulfides, aromatic bromides, chlorides, and aldehydes.
