The present report describes preparation and use of new protein modifying reagents, namely methoxypoly(ethylene glycol)-N-succinimidyl carbonate (SC-PEG) and its bifunctional analog, polyethylene glycol)-bis-N-succinimidyl carbonate (BSC-PEG).
