Liquid subcooled

For the saturated liquid the specific volume at 203.15 Kis 7.26239 X 10 mV kg, etc. All the tabular values for 203.15 K, 213.15 K, 223.15 K, and 233.15 K represent a metastahle equilibrium between the subcooled liquid and the saturated vapor. 

Fhix-force-condensation scrubbers combine the effects of flux force (diffiisiophoresis and thermophoresis) and water-vapor condensation. These scrubbers contact hot, humid gas with subcooled liquid, and/or they inject steam into saturated gas, and they have demonstrated that a number of these novel devices can remove fine particulates (see Fig. 25-24). Although limited in terms of commercialization, these systems may find application in many industries.

The liquid zone to the left of the boiling point line is subcooled liquid. The gas under this line is superheated gas. 

To solve Equation 9.50, start by assuming a feed condition such that q can be fixed. Saturated liquid feed (i.e. q = 1) is normally assumed in an initial design as it tends to decrease the minimum reflux ratio relative to a vaporized feed. Liquid feeds are also preferred because the pressure at which the column operates can easily be increased if required by pumping the liquid to a higher pressure. Increasing the pressure of a vapor feed is much more expensive as it requires a compressor rather than a pump. Feeding a subcooled liquid or a superheated vapor brings inefficiency to the separation as the feed material must first return to saturated conditions before it can participate in the distillation process.

Mist flow, one component In a one-component system with finely dispersed drops in the mist flow, the mass transfer between phases over a large interfacial area has to be considered. For the compression wave the frozen state can be assumed to be subcooled liquid, superheated vapor conditions generated by the wave are fairly stable, and the expressions for the two-component system are valid (Henry, 1971) ... 

Liquid core temperature and velocity distribution analysis. BankofT (1961) analyzed the convective heat transfer capability of a subcooled liquid core in local boiling by using the turbulent liquid flow equations. He found that boiling crisis occurs when the core is unable to remove the heat as fast as it can be transmitted by the wall. The temperature and velocity distributions were analyzed in the singlephase turbulent core of a boiling annular flow in a circular pipe of radius r.
