Strip-winding process

Fabrlcatlon/assembly of externally wound tubular membrane elements is accomplished by specially designed equipment that simultaneously and continuously winds, in helical fashion. Infinite lengths of membrane and backing material strips onto prefabricated tubular support structures. Membrane strip winding overlaps are solvent bonded during the winding process. [Pg.200]

Spa. They were 2.44 m in diameter, in varying lengths to accommodate changing pipe depth. In the spiral winding process an extruded strip of HOPE melt is spirally wound on to a former, often made of wood. The process is continued until a sufficient thickness for the particular... [Pg.281]

In a filament winding process the filament is applied on a mandrel. Mandrel types can be distinguished in heated mandrels, non-heated mandrels, dissolvable cores and liners. Using a heated or non-heated mandrel the quality of the mandrel surface is an important factor due to the fact that the finally wound component must be stripped (pulled or pushed) over the surface. By using a liner or a dissolvable core the surface quality is not so relevant, due to the fact that the liner remains in the product and the dissolvable core is removed after the winding process. [Pg.190]

Thermal processes such as coking, cat cracking, hydrodesulfurization, and hydrocracking ail produce both NF 3 and H2S. The resulting aqueous-phase ammonium hydrosulfide is antagonistic to carbon steel heat-exchanger tubes. Most of the ammonium hydrosulfide winds up in sour-water streams. Before disposal, the sour water must be steam stripped. The overhead condenser used for this stripper has an extremely corrosive environment. Titanium is preferred for this service. [Pg.473]
