Stock dyeing

Students use a commercial diluter to prepare five sets of dilutions of a stock dye solution (each set contains ten replicates) using two different diluters. Results are compared using f-tests and F-tests. 

Stamp-Pad Inks. These inks are impregnated into a cloth or foam mbber pad and transferred by pressure to mbber type which is then stamped or impressed against the substrate. The inks must be completely nondrying in the pad and yet dry by rapid penetration into the paper. Since it is desirable that the total ink soak into the stock, dyes are used rather than pigments. The vehicles used are usually glycols. 

The times t are in minutes and the dye concentrations [dye] are in milliliters of stock dye solution per 100 ml of the reactant mixture. The stock dye solution was 7.72 x 10 molar. Use these data to fit a rate expression of the form... 

Stock dyeing often is carried out in laige heated kettles made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant metal. These kettles can be sealed and used for dyeing at temperatures somewhat above the boiling point of water at atmospheric pressure.

Disperse Red 17 (Figure 11) gave positive patch test reactions in patients sensitized to other azo dyes, and was cited as a stocking dye. 

It should be noted that in connection with strict measures on environmental protection stock dyeing, as practically wasteless production, becomes the most important among other methods. Besides, due to the shortage of service water there is no longer any necessity for sewage treatment of textile-finishing production from different impurities (dye, surface-active substances (SAS), salts and so on). 

Since there are data on stabilizing action of dyes at photo- and thermal destruction of PETP then it becomes veiy interesting to introduce such dyes-stabilizers by the method of stock dyeing, that is to introduce the dye into polymer at any stage of its production or fibre forming. 

For stock dyeing no more than 0,1-0,5 weight % is introduced, as such amount of dye caimot influence intermolecular interaction, chain regularity and polyester crystallinity [288],... 

Dye Solution. A dye stock solution is prepared by dissolving 0.400 g of bromothymol blue in 25 mL of 96% ethanol, making the final volume up to 100 mL with the 1 x 10" M borax solution. The dye solution used is then prepared by mixing 1 mL of the stock dye solution with 199 mL of the 1 X 10 M borax solution (the absorbancy of this solution m a 10-mm-long cell is 1.2 A).
