Stiffening masonry

Uses Polyvinyl acetate for wood and pkg. adhesives, textile hand stiffeners, masonry coatings... 

The water retentivity of the mortar should be sufficiently high to spread evenly on the masonry units. Some units, with high levels of capillary suction, may present difficulties with premature drying-out and stiffening of the mortar. 

Calcspar. Old name for calcite (q.v.). Calculated Brickwork. Brickwork designed according to the engineering principles set out in BS 5628 Code of Practice for the Use of Masonry .
