By looking at the totals from the evaluation step the preferred supplier will be very obvious. If for some reason it is not, there is enough detail available at this point to do some extensive analysis and pick the best supplier. The mathematieal data can be reviewed and eorrelated in maty different ways to determine the best supplier. [Pg.84]

By using mathematical analysis the emotional aspects are removed. 1 have seen the best supplier rise to the top in a variety of situations. Using the mathematieal results helps to indicate an overall rating by the team members and the others. If necessary, more detail can be developed than in [Pg.84]

The preferred supplier would be the one with the highest ranking. The strengths can be identified by looking at the business area breakdowa The overall rating will give the first evaluation point. Then look to the business areas for further breakdown. If specific questions are important these results can be looked at as well. [Pg.85]

If these 15 steps are followed, your best supplier will be identified. As the implementation process of creating supplier alliances is begun, the benefits will be seen as dollars saved and an increase in the bottom line. [Pg.85]

Now it s time to go on to the next product group and start with step one again. It will be easier this time, and you may find that those suppliers you have already chosen are the best suppliers for the next group as well. They already know your compaity and have indicated their desire to work with you. [Pg.85]


Some of the steps in the validation fife cycle will not be needed in some validation projects. For instance, the use of preferred suppliers for software and hardware products or services removes the need for repeated supplier appraisal and selection. Life-cycle steps, however, cannot be eliminated for packaged systems with embedded computer system systems purchased from, or subcontracted to, a vendor.
