Components produced in lowyield that have high value. Dicyclopentadiene can be recovered from the products of steam naphtha cracking. Acetophenone is recovered as a byproduct of phenol manufacture, although it can also be made by oxidation of ethylbenzene or fermentation of cinnamic acid. 

The risk of coke formation is to be analysed in the same way as for a steam cracker [481]. In fact, a steam/naphtha reformer with a completely deactivated nickel catalyst will work as a steam cracker producing olefins as discussed in Section 4.3.3.
