Standing clusters oscillation

Since the domains oscillate out of phase, the period, Tav, of oscillations of Zav is half the period of the local oscillations. Other patterns of standing clusters can be obtained by varying the initial conditions, e.g., by illuminating the system briefly through a mask with the desired pattern. 

H)N-NDR systems DL activator accelerated waves, inhomogeneous (BF unstable) oscillations stationary domains, standing waves, anti-phase oscillations with n = 1 pulses, target patterns, clusters enhanced acceleration of potential fronts, mainly homogenizing effect cluster formation in the oscillatory region... 

The hollow cage structure of the fullerenes allows a spherical standing wave to be formed inside the cluster, and this has been advanced as the explanation for marked oscillations of the photoionisation cross section of Ceo which persist in both the gaseous and the solid phase [666]. 

Here Im stands for the imaginary part, and e co) is the complex dielectric function. Using the experimental (o) for sodium [47] one obtains the absorption profile given as the last curve in Figure 5.10(d) (marked NaMie)- The calculated Mie resonance is narrower than the cluster plasmon peaks, but has nearly the same oscillator strength per electron. It has a maximum at Em c = 3.27 eV, which differs from the pure jellium result of 3.41 eV. The small but significant difference of 140 meV is attributed to core polarization effects, i.e. the... 

To simulate the pattern formation observed in our experiments, we employ a model of the BZ reaction (21). We add a global linear feedback term to account for the bromide ion production that results from the actinic illumination, vqf = naxC av ss% where q> is the quantum yield. The results of our simulations mimic those of the experiments. Bulk oscillations and travelling waves are observed in die model for smaller values of g. At higher g values, standing, irregular and localized clusters are observed in the same sequence and with the same patterns of hysteresis as in the experiments...
