Stairs landing

Stair landing- A platform between flights of stairs or at the termination of a flight of stairs. Often used when stairs change direction. Normally no less than 3 ft. X 3 ft. square. 

Adequate fighting at entries, transition points, stairs, landings, etc. 

Post means a structural member with a longitudinal axis that is essentially vertical, that (1) weighs 300 pounds or less and is axially loaded (a load presses down on the top end), or (2) is not axially loaded, but is laterally restrained by the above member. Posts typically support stair landings, wall framing, mezzanines and other substructures. 

Sufficient walkway clearance, stair/landing sizes should be provided to enable a stretcher case to be transported from anywhere on the platform to a designated medical treatment or evacuation station. 

Go through the left-hand doorway, beneath the sun-cup symbol. This spiral stairway ascends in a deosil (clockwise) direction. You can feel a warm, dry breeze blowing up this stairway—blowing up behind you, not unpleasantly. It plays with your hair and the folds of your robe as you ascend. For enclosed process structures, open outside stairs may be used for an exit, but require protective separation from the interior of the building by walls with the same fire resistance rating as required for enclosed stairs. This construction should extend vertically from the ground to a point 10 ft (3 m) above the topmost landing of the stairs or to the roofline, whichever is lower, and to a point not less than 10 ft (3 m) horizontally.

FHA strap- Metal straps that are used to repair a bearing wall "cut-out", and to "tie together" wall comers, splices, and bearing headers. Also, they are used to hang stairs and landings to bearing headers. 

Except dirring stairway construction, foot traffic is prohibited on stairways with pan stairs where the treads and/or landings are to be filled with concrete or other material later, unless the stairs are temporarily fitted with wood or other solid material at least to the top edge of each pan. 

Because climbing stairs is hard work and too many steps can be tiring, multi-storied buildings and long flights of stairs should have landings to give people a chance to recover. 

Stairs Standards specify various characteristics of stairs. Included are clear width, tread and riser dimensions, head room, distance between landings, and landing dimensions. There are also winder, spiral and curved stair specifications. There are other details about stairs including handrails, guardrails, stairs enclosures, and other features. 

This Act applies to all regular offices and site offices (which are in use for more than six months if movable or more than six weeks if fixed) in which people work for more than a total of 21 hours per week (self-employed man and family-only staff excepted).
