The synthesis of 2-thioxo-1,3-0,/V-heterocycles connected to glycopyran and glycofuran scaffolds involves the formation of fused, anchored or spiro structures. The synthesis of such compounds is an attractive challenge from a chemical point of view but also from the growing interest concerning their biological properties.
