Spectroscopy in kinetic studies

Lasers are highly useful sources in analytical instrumentation because of their high intensities, their narrow bandwidths, and the coherent nature of their outputs. The first laser was described in 1960. Publication of studies in this area has continued to increase so that some selectivity of the contents in the main text of this chapter has been necessary and other relevant papers are added in a bibliography.
