Spectrophotometric Determination of Bismuth

In absence of coloured compounds and metal ions which react with iodide, Bi can be determined as the yellow iodo-complex. 

Prepare a stock solution by dissolving 1.2 g purest bismuth(lll) oxide in 200 cm cone, sulphuric acid and making up to 1 dm in a volumetric flask.
