Some Considerations Regarding Research Strategies

It seems that with some effort, major laboratories could come to an agreement on the species which would be identified as principal objects of research efforts. Obviously there are the special cases in which a particular species of organism is ideally suited for a specific study. However, in general, it would seem that only when we have a comprehensive understanding of the interaction of hormonal processes in a few plants will it be practicable to expand and extend our knowledge to a wider diversity of species about which we have only fragmentary knowledge at present. [Pg.225]
