Sodium nitrate available oxygen

It is available commercially from several routes including as a product from the manufacture of sodium nitrate from sodium chloride and nitric acid, and from a process involving the passage of ammonia and air over heated platinum and treating the nitric oxide so formed with oxygen. 

AP is the most commonly used oxidizer for fuel rich propellants. AN is used where a high rate of gas generation is the prime requirement. Sometimes, sodium nitrate also finds application due to its high density, oxygen availability, heat of combustion and affinity of its exhaust species with ram-air. HMX-based fuel-rich formulations which give better performance, are also available. 

The salts of nitric acid can be divided into two groups explosive and non-explosive Metallic salts, e.g. sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate are not explosives themselvest None the less use is made of them in many explosive mixtures, as components tha act as readily available oxygen carriers. 

The oxygen available in the former case amounts 0.l88grams and in the latter 0. 2 grajns per 1 gram of sodium nitrate. The reaction of the latter may be... 

Although there are 30 water quality parameters available, only 23 completely monitored parameters were selected. A total of 254 samples were used for the analysis.
