Yellow Household Soaps, (a) Bar Soaps.—These are made from tallow with an admixture of from 15-25 per cent, rosin. The best quality is known in the South and West of England as Primrose Soap, but is designated in the North of England by such names as... 

C13H18O2, Mr 206.29, does not occur in nature. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid, 1.018-1.023, p 1.501 1.506, with a herbal-fresh odor, reminiscent of grapefruit. It is prepared by a Prins reaction of a-methylstyrene with acetaldehyde and used in perfume compositions for soap, detergents, and household products. 

Solution of soft household soap, in an atmosphere saturated with water vapor. Colourless phase of 5" to 14" the later phenomena were followed only for one cap it initially behaved appreciably like those of household soap, until it had become entirely black but, by observing it one hour and half later, 1 noted with surprise that it was again colorless, with some yellow points, and offered only one very small black spot. It burst shortly afterwards, and had persisted beyond three hours.
