Dinuclear iridium compounds can also perform C-H and C-F bond activation for a broad range of compounds [178]. For example, the activation of the C-F bond in trifluoroethylene is achieved selectively with [Ir2(CH3)(CO)2(dppm)2] [179], tandem C-F and C-H activation in fluoroolefins is promoted by [Ir2(CO)3(p-H)(depm)2] (depm = bis(diethylphosphino)methane) [180], and intramolecular C-H bond activation is observed upon arylation of hjltfepmaljClj with C HjMgBr [181].
