In the third apphcation, the combination of stmctural analysis together with strac-tural pharmacophore design led to the identification of several previously unknown small molecule inhibitors in public databases. 

Cationization of small organic molecules has been applied as an alternative to protonation for a wide variety of componnds not readily amenable to piotonation. Grade and Cooks [34] reported Ag -, Pt - and Li+-cationization of compounds like anthracene, 1,4-dicyanobenzene, / -aminobenzoic acid in SIMS. [M+Na] - and [M-i-K] -ions have been reported to freqnently occur with mat r small molecules inFDI-MS, FAB-MS, ESI-MS andMALDI-MS.
