The same slurry-coating method is applicable to catalyst particles, and the same reasoning holds for an optimal particle size. Different is the impact of fhe use of binder material. [Pg.285]

Furthermore, slurry-coated cermet anodes have various long-term stability problems, particularly due to the fine particle size of the metallic component. It has also been reported that the tolerance for impurities in fuels is very limited. High levels (100 ppm) of H S may cause significant irreversible performance loss due to anode poisoning. [Pg.143]

Our research shows that in terms of effectiveness and economics the most promising environmental control technology (ECT) for dealing with high-sulfur coal wastes from the United States consists of sequential slurry coating of the waste with lime and limestone. In the eonfiguration tested (0.35% lime and 1.1% limestone), this technique controlled the waste effluent quality for 4 months. The effluent pH remained between 7.3 and 7.6, and the trace element concentrations (aluminium, calcium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, and copper) were within acceptable limits. This treatment offers a potentially viable approach disposal of these wastes. [Pg.611]

Costs of 10 alternative ECTs were calculated for three hypothetical and three actual coal-cleaning plants, and the cost of lime-limestone slurry coating was analyzed. [Pg.611]

Option 10. Lime-Limestone Slurry Coating. Capital cost for this option was calculated to be 601 600 and essentially independent of plant throughput in the range here considered. The operating expense, other than materials, is also independent of throughput. Lime and limestone cost is a function of the tonnage and not the composition of waste. The data in the tables are based... [Pg.628]
