Slitting process

With the use of a computer, many of the variables in the slitting process can be monitored to facilitate the best possible slitting result. An example of this would be a patented product which is called SWIM , which stands for Slit Width Management. If you enter slitting results into the SWiM database during the setup process, the operator will know, based on past history, how much to adjust the setup. This allows for the most accurate slit width. 

A few computer-assisted shimless slitting programs are available today. They combine customized sets of precision tooling with the power of the computer. Many are available with the ease and control of the WINDOWS operating system from Microsoft. This allows the many variables within the slitting process...

First, be sure all other required leads are implanted successfully before attempting to remove the long vascular sheath over the left ventricular lead. Placing the left ventricular lead first in patients without left bundle branch block can be accomplished, but the long sheath within the coronary sinus should only be removed after the other leads are implanted to afford a final chance to adjust left ventricular lead length after the implant of the other leads and affords the best chance to maintain left ventricular lead stability following the slitting process.
