Six-membered heterocycle-derived

In the reaction of perfluoro-5-azanon-4-ene with 2,6-dimethylaniline, the attack at the carbon atom of the new N=C bond forms a six-membered heterocycle derived from dihydroquinazoline (00JFC(104)263). If the 2,6-positions of the benzene ring of aniline contain electron-donor substituents... [Pg.199]

Thionamides are the most important class of antithyroid compounds in clinical practice used in nondestructive therapy of hyperthyroidism. These agents are potent inhibitors of TPO, which is responsible for the iodination of tyrosine residues of thyroglobulin and the coupling of iodotyrosine residues to form iodothyronines. These drugs have no effect on the iodide pump or on thyroid hormone release. The most clinically useful thionamides are thioureylenes, which are five- or six-membered heterocyclic derivatives of thiourea and include the thiouracil 6-n-propyl-2-thiouracil (PTU) and the thioimidazole 1-methyl-2-mercaptoimidazole (methimazole, Tapazole, MMI). The uptake of these drugs into the thyroid gland is stimulated by TSH and inhibited by iodide. [Pg.1378]

Under these or modified conditions, a plethora of five- and six-membered heterocyclic derivatives have been synthesized during the past 10 years, as partially summarized in the Schemes 13.55 and 13.56 [103-109]. [Pg.353]

Ring expansion of five- to six-membered rings such as oxazole —> pyridine derivatives via a Diels-Alder reaction is a well-established procedure. However, the conversion of a six-membered heterocycle into a five-membered ring system has not been exploited to any great extent, and those systems that have been studied usually involve a cationic species. [Pg.157]

This reactivity of A-unsubstituted amino-pyrazoles and -indazoles which can be regarded as 1,3-diamino derivatives has been used to build a great variety of fused six-membered heterocycles such as the 1,2,4-triazine derivatives (540) and (541), the 1,3,5-triazine derivatives (542) and (543), and benzothiadiazines (544). [Pg.271]

Six-membered heterocycles with one tellurium and two nitrogen atoms in the ring are represented by 2-aroyl derivatives of 1,2,3-telluradiazine and 5,6-benzo-1,2,3-telluradiazine 89. For the synthesis of these compounds, IV-aroylhydrazones of 2-bromotellurenylcyclohexenealdehyde and 2-bromotellurenylbenzaldehyde 90 were used as the starting materials (98ZOK959). Dehydrobromination of the hydrazones 90 occurs on treatment with triethylamine and gives the heterocycles 89 in about 80% yields. [Pg.30]

Certain amine oxides, especially those derived from six-membered heterocyclic amines e.g. N-methylpiperidine oxide, that cannot go through a planar, five-membered transition state, do not undergo the Cope elimination reaction. [Pg.65]

Apart from characterization of the individual types of six-membered heterocycles by routine spectroscopic methods, several cationic cyclic diketiminato-phosphenium ions and 1,8-diamidonaphthalene-derived P-chlorophosphines and phosphenium ions, respectively, were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The P-halogen- and P-hydroxy-substituted cyclic diketiminato-phosphenium ions 28... [Pg.96]

Another approach to the construction of the central ring is an intramolecular cyclization of a substrate composed of two six-membered heterocycles and bridged by a one-atom unit. This method has been applied to the synthesis of derivatives of 3, 6, 12, and 13 C1995BML163, 1996JHC1147, 2001JHC1173, 2002T5733>. [Pg.1017]

The majority of compounds of this class have been constructed by cyclization of a nonfused heterobiaryl composed of two six-membered heterocycles. It provides a facile synthetic entry to derivatives of 25, 26, 27, and 36 <1995SL622, 1997LA1619, 1998T927, 1998JCM502, 2004GC125>. [Pg.1020]

The construction of the central ring can also be accomplished by a radical cyclization of a non-fused heterobiaryl system composed of two six-membered heterocycles and linked by a two-atom bridge. An example is the synthesis of 106 from the bromo derivative 105 in the presence of AIBN and Bu3SnH (Equation 8) <1999TL4073>. [Pg.1020]
