Single crystals mesoporous carbons

Tin incorporated mesoporous Sn-MFI catalysts with different Si/Sn ratio using microwave were synthesized with carbon as hard template. These tin MFI catalysts were characterized using various physicochemical techniques XRD reviled the formation of more crystalline MFI structures which was further supported by the SEM and TEM imaging which clearly showed well ordered zeolite single crystals with mesoporosity. The N2 sorption isothers reviled the formation of bimodal mesoporous zeolites and the presence of tin in tetrahedral site was confirmed by FTIR (970 cm 1) and XPS (3ds/2 and 3 dj 2 electronic states). The thus synthesized mesoporous Sn-MFI catalysts with different Si/Sn ratios were used in studying the catalytic Baeyer-Villiger Oxidation (BVO) of cyclic ketones...

In the case of soft-template self-assembly synthesis, mesostructure assembly and morphology growth can be controlled concurrently. Due to the versatility of the solvent-based soft-template self-assembly process, highly ordered mesoporous carbons can be produced relatively easily with different morphologies such as thin film and membrane, " monolith,fibre,sphere, rod, single-crystal, " and discus-like crystal. Initially, mesoporous carbons synthesised with soft templates were exclusively in the form of films. " ... 

The goal of this chapter is to gather the methods most commonly used for the preparation of gold catalysts supported on common oxide powders. For the sake of brevity, deposition on more specific supports, such as structured mesoporous supports, zeolites, and carbon is barely reported in this chapter, and we refer to Chapter 4 of the book on gold catalysis [7]. The methods described are mainly those performed in the liquid phase. The preparations of model catalysts, that is, on films or single crystals and those of bimetallics are excluded.
