4- Silyl-2-alkenoic acids

Deprotonation. Exposure of 1-alkenes to the strong base and then a chlorosilane gives (Z)-2-alkenylsilanes. Alkenoic acids are similarly converted to 4-silyl-2-alkenoic acids. The preparation of an acetone enolate equivalent is by lithiation of methyl isopropenyl ether at low temperature. ... [Pg.65]

The Stille adduct of 2-bromothiophene and l-ethoxy-2-tributyl-n-stannylethene or 1-ethoxy-l-tri-n-butylstannylethene is a masked thienyl aldehyde or a masked ketone, respectively [77-80]. Vinylstannane 93, derived exclusively as the -isomer from hydrostannation of bis(trimethyl-silyl)propargyl amine (92), was coupled with 2-bromothiophene to form ( )-cinnamyl amine 94 upon acidic hydrolysis [81, 82], In another case, stereoisomerically pure phenyl ( )-2-tributylstannyl-2-alkenoate 95, arising from Pd-mediated hydrostannation of phenyl ( )-2-alkynoate, was joined with 2-iodothiophene to deliver the stereodefmed trisubstituted a,p-unsaturated ester 96 [83, 84],... [Pg.247]

The first systematic investigation toward Lewis acid catalyzed vinylogous Mukaiya ma Mannich reactions was reported by the group of Ojima in 1987 who showed that acyclic vinylketene silyl 0,0 acetals 10 reacted with imines activated by stoichio metric amounts of TiCU to furnish either 5 amino 2 alkenoates 11 or 5,6 dihydro pyridones 12 selectively in excellent yields depending upon the substitution of the silyl dienolate employed (Scheme 5.4) [5]. Although 2 methyl substituted vinylketene acetal 10a gave rise to acyclic 5 amino 2 alkenoates 11 exclusively, 3 methyl substi tuted vinylketene acetal 10b furnished 5,6 dihydropyridones 12 as the sole products. [Pg.159]
