The electrodeposition of tellurium and silver has been investigated in dilute aqueous solutions of tellurous acid and Ag " ions (concentrations in the order of 10 to 10 " M) in 0.1 M HCIO4 [164], In particular, cyclic voltammetry experiments were conducted with rotating glassy carbon disk electrodes in baths with various concentration ratios of Ag(I) and Te(IV) precursors, and their outcome was discussed in terms of the voltammetric features. For a Ag(I)/Te(IV) ratio close to 0.8, formation of quasi pure silver telluride, Ag2Te, was reported. The authors, based on their measurements and on account of thermodynamic predictions, assumed that silver is deposited first on the electrode (Ag" + e Ag), and then Te(IV) is reduced on the previous silver deposit with formation of Ag2Te according to the reaction... [Pg.114]

Mixed silver telluride-tellurolate complexes have been prepared in a similar manner to those of selenium. The reactions of a silver salt with RTeTMS in the presence of phosphines as stabilizing agents are reported in Scheme 9 1043-1046... [Pg.965]

Aloisi et al. [337] have performed in situ STM and electrochemical investigations of oxidative UPD of sulfur on Ag(lll). Electrodepositions of silver selenide [338], silver telluride thin films [339], and silver selenide nanowires [340] have also been described. [Pg.943]

One form of silver telluride (Ag2Te) crystallizes with a cubic unit cell and a density of 7.70 g/ cm3. X-ray crystallography shows that the edge of the cubic unit cell has a length of 529 pm. How many Ag atoms are in the unit cell ... [Pg.426]

Carbon ditelluride has not yet been prepared. Attempts to prepare this compound from carbon tetrachloride and hydrogen telluride, carbon tetrabromide or tetraiodide and silver telluride, carbon and tellurium2, or dichloromethane and tellurium3 were unsuccessful. The claim of the preparation of carbon ditelluride by sputtering tellurium from a tellurium/graphite electrode in a DC-arc under carbon disulfide4 was withdrawn5. [Pg.523]

Unlike the copper telluride clusters, it has not yet proven possible to generate large silver telluride cluster complexes using a combination of R3P, Ag-X and Te(SiMe3)2. This suggests that the phosphine ligands are unable to kinetically... [Pg.432]
