Silica-phosphate glass-ceramic

In Germany, a silica-phosphate glass-ceramic has been developed and used clinically. It consists of fluorhydroxyapatite (Caio(P04)e(OH,F)2) and phlogopite ((Na,K)Mg3(AISi30io)F2), a type of mica [88,94-96],... [Pg.302]

In addition to apatite and the AlPO -modifications, phosphates of the nasicon-type structure are also important in silica-free phosphate glass-ceramics. Winand et al. (1990), have shown that Na IiCPOj) belongs to the nasicon-type structure of Naj Zr2P3 j Si 0 2- The space group is Rdc. Divalent ions may also be inserted into these structures without changing the nasicon structure. According to Schulz et al. (1994), the complex structural formula can be written as follows ... [Pg.36]

Boron phosphate is used as an acid catalyst for dehydration of alcohols to olefins isomemization of olefins nitration of aromatic hydrocarbons polymerization of aldehydes and other synthetic reactions. It also is used as a flux in silica-based porcelain and ceramics special glasses and acid cleaners. [Pg.130]

Adsorption Cellulose, chitine (chitosan), nylon, polypropylene fibres, polymer nets and membranes, wood, lignine, ion-exchange resins, polyurethane foam, polyacrylamide (Porous) glass, clay, bentonite, zeolithes, ceramics, meso-porous silica, metal oxides (Fe, Ti, Mg), metal phosphates, mineral powder... [Pg.275]
