Silene fortunei

It was observed in the author s group that the combined use of some acyl-saponins from Silene fortunei (78,79 80,81, Fig. 3) and cisplatin increased the intracellular platinum concentration and potentiated the in vitro cytotoxic effect of cisplatin in HT-29 human colon cancer cells [48]. The absence of potentiating activity of deacylated saponins suggested the importance of the p-methoxycinnamoyl group for the activity. Such effect was also observed in vivo with a combination of digitonin and cisplatin during isolated lung perfusion [49]. [Pg.223]
