Signal cleaning

While many of the undesired components can be removed by background subtraction, many scatter components remain which can interfere with the desired signal. The next step in the signal cleaning process can remove the rest of these terms, as described in the next section. [Pg.189]

The instrument uses a sinusoidal driver. The spectrum is very clean as we use a 14 bits signal generator. The probe signal is modulated in amplitude and phase by a defect signal. The demodulation is intended to extract the cartesian values X and Y of this modulation. [Pg.280]

Electromagnetic flow meters ate avadable with various liner and electrode materials. Liner and electrode selection is governed by the corrosion characteristics of the Hquid. Eor corrosive chemicals, fluoropolymer or ceramic liners and noble metal electrodes are commonly used polyurethane or mbber and stainless steel electrodes are often used for abrasive slurries. Some fluids tend to form an insulating coating on the electrodes introducing errors or loss of signal. Several features of ISS quantitative analysis should be noted. First of all, the relative sensitivities for the elements increase monotonically with mass. Essentially none of the other surface spectroscopies exhibit this simplicity. Because of this simple relationship, it is possible to mathematically manipulate the entire ISS spectrum such that the signal intensity is a direct quantitative representation of the surface. This is illustrated in Figure 5, which shows a depth profile of clean electrical connector pins.
