Sheep sorrel

The herbs, in this instance, were said to be burdock root (Arctium), sheep sorrel (Rumex), slippery elm (Ulmus), and turkey rhubarb root (Rheum). All are listed in Hartwell (1982a, b). (According to this herbal source, Clark s The Cure for All Cancers (1983) seemed to be a bestseller, although there was dissent about its effectiveness.)...

Clover grows well in poor soil. Fertilizing the lawn will tend to deter it (but see also The value of clover, opposite). Sheep s sorrel can be a problem in acidic soil conditions. Liming soil (see below) can help. Plantain and thistles grow where grass is thin or patchy. On arable land, weeds such as sheep s sorrel, com marigold and spurrey are common where a soil is or has a history of being acidic. Also, in acid conditions residual herbicide activity may be reduced.
