Shear roller extruder

Various possibilities are available for homogenising the powder and binder. For example, the material can be mixed with a twin screw extruder, a shear roller extruder, or a rapid mixer. 

Pellet Mills Pellet mills operate on the principle shown in Fig. 20-92. Moist, plastic feed is pushed through holes in dies of various shapes. The friction of the material in the die holes supplies the resistance necessary for compaction. Adjustable knives shear the rodlike extrudates into pellets of the desired length. Although several designs are in use, the most commonly used pellet mills operate by applying power to the die and rotating it around a freely turning roller with Fixed horizontal or vertical axis. 

An open mill is a short name for an open plastic mixing mill. It is a roller exposed rubber machine used in a rubber factory to prepare plasticated rubber and rubber compounds, or to conduct heat refining, and it is part of the basic equipment in the rubber industry. An open mill mainly relies on two relative rotary rollers to extrude and shear rubber material and cut the macromolecule chains inside rubber through multiple kneading and associated chemical reactions in the process of kneading, which evenly blends all kinds of components inside rubber and finally achieves the purpose of milling.
