Shark Bay, Australia

Stromatolites can still be found in isolated spots around the world. The best known may be at the hypersaline Shark Bay, Australia, where dark footstools rise from the water like mushrooms. These are the same kind of mats as seen in fossils. Once they were successful enough to cover the globe, but now they hang on in distant, extreme places where other hfeforms can t compete. It s a very low-key Jurassic Park (Archaean Park, perhaps ).
