SFE-Chromatographic Techniques

The direct coupling of SFE with different chromatographic techniques allows simultaneous preparation, separation and determination of analytes. In coupled methods, the analyte in the appropriate solvent is transferred directly from the extraction step to the chromatograph. 

The preparation procedure is simplified and the analysis is more precise and sensitive. The analysis time is reduced and the sample contamination is minimized. 

In order to obtain optimum performance of the tandem SFE-chromatograph, four fundamental conditions must be taken into account  

As in other tandem systems, the interface is a critical point which determines the quality of the SFE-chromatograph tandem system.
