Seven Factors Critical to BBS Success

In studying behavior-based safety practitioners and implementations, seven factors 

1) Use a process blueprint. To succeed, a firm must have a well-developed blueprint for the entire implementation sequence. This requires a well-structured approach that is implemented rigorously. 

2) Emphasize communication, buy-in. Buy-in and communication are related to how well the change effort is marketed within the organization. 

3) Demonstrate leadership (both management and labor). This factor addresses the central importance of leadership s orientation and support for the change process. 

4) Ensure team competence. This factor encompasses identification, recruitment and training of the change-effort steering committee and its leader—a group crucial to success.
