Self-screening

To test the selectivity of the self-screening process, six other enzymes belonging to the hydrolase family were tested under the same set of conditions as in DCL-A. These enzymes were butyrylcholinesterase, horse fiver esterase (HLE, EC 3.1.1.1), Candida cylindracea lipase (CCL, EC 3.1.1.3), (3-galactosidase ((3-Gal, EC 3.2.1.23), trypsin (EC 3.4.21.4), and...

Excellent resistance in mildew and aging. Prolonged exposure tu sunlight causes deterioration, hut fibers, are self-screening. Good abrasion resistance. ... 

The tank circuit may be in the form of discrete capacitors or inductance coils but more usually it is of aluminium cavity construction, with the valve enclosed by inherent inductive and capacitative elements. The last-mentioned arrangement has the advantages of being partly self-screening and of minimizing the possibility of parasitic oscillations. 

Beeause of their aromatie character, aramids absorb UV light, which results in an oxidative color change. Substantial exposure can lead to the loss of yam tensile properties [24]. UV absorption by p-aramids is more pronounced than with w-aramids. In this case a self-screening phenomenon is observed, which makes thin stmctures more susceptible to degradation than thiek ones. Very frequently p-aramids are covered with another material in the final applieation to protect them.
