Self modular design

The septage chlorination process equipment (Purifax) is commercially available over a wide range of flow capacities from 55 mVd (10 gpm) to a theoretically unlimited maximum. Sizing information is available from the manufacturer of Purifax. The system can be dimensioned such that the daily volume of septage is treated in 4-6 h. Most septage chlorination units are of a prefabricated, modular design, completely self-contained and skid-mounted. [Pg.435]

A 162-modular redundant system uses the same resources as the self-assembling self-repairing design. A simple analysis shows the self-assembling solution can tolerate a greater number of failures than its static-redundancy equivalent. [Pg.171]

With no redundant cells available to the self-assembling design, the MTTF is slightly longer than that of its N-modular equivalent. However making available small numbers of cells significantly increases its MTTF (by a factor of IQio hours in the case of 10 redundant cells) performance over its equivalent N-modular design. [Pg.176]

In designing ever larger diamondoid networks, it is important to retain the approximate T(i symmetry of the building blocks. This may be achieved via a single self-complementary building block such as 8.59 which possesses four mutually complementary carboxylic acid groups, or by a modular approach, which uses a combination of a TA (or at least, S 4) node such as the cubeane cluster [Mn(CO)3( j,3-OH)] 4 (8.60) and a linear spacer (A-A) (Figure 8.76). [Pg.561]
