A life-threatening condition, when selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor agonists (triptans) are used together. However, many other drugs have been implicated (see below). Signs and symptoms of serotonin syndrome include the following ... 

The triptans should be used with caution in patients on lithium, monoamine oxidase inhibitors or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, due to the rare occurrence of the serotonin syndrome. 

Some of the medications have drug interactions with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, MAO inhibitors, triptans, and some opioids, but not with antihypertensive medications.
