Selection Interviewing

Selection interviewing can be very stressful, for both interviewer and interviewee, and every attempt should be made to minimise any detrimental impact of this stress. Whilst technology is readily available for interviews to be carried out via some form of video conferencing, in most companies face to face interviewing is still the preferred method. [Pg.30]

Interviewers should be happy that all the required paper work on the candidates, e.g. application form, CV etc, is available that all the necessary physical arrangements, e.g. transportation and accommodation for candidates have been made and that the rooms for carrying out the interviewing are available. [Pg.30]

In most municipal or county departments, the oral interview is a very important part of the application process, so important that there may be two of them—a qualifying interview and a selection interview.
