SEDOR method

The SEDOR method is based on subtraction of large signals leading to small signal differences. It is sensitive to small signal errors and critically depends on spectrometer adjustments. The HYCAT method is illustrated in Fig. 7.2.33(a) [Kim4]. The initial... [Pg.312]

It is established therefore that imaging of 15N by direct methods is feasible and can be improved by 15N XH experiments even when the 15N resonance is broadened by rapid exchange of attached protons. But if the compound of interest has resolved /( N-1 ) interactions, then indirect detection by a SEDOR J1H 15N experiment for liquids offers much greater sensitivity129-131. [Pg.332]

SEDOR has certain limitations. The method is less reliable when the I - I interactions are stronger than the I — S interactions, or when strong S - S interactions are present. Therefore, the technique seems to be well suited for the study of catalysis on surfaces where the above limitations are not severe, at least... [Pg.386]

Similar to SEDOR, but appropriate for isolated pairs of spins is the rotational echo double resonance method, or REDOR. In REDOR, the combined dynamics of the isolated two-spin system and the sample rotation serve to generate echoes at the rotor period. These echoes can be dephased by application of a pulse to one of the coupled partners. The amount of dephasing caused by this additional pulse is a measure of the coupling strength, and hence proximity, of the spins in the pair. This experiment is mostly applied to doubly or multiply labeled samples, for example, biopolymers enriched with and... [Pg.3407]
