Screw type segment

The important fact to note at this point is that, since metadislocation loops have [0 01] Burgers vectors, they are pure edge loops, also referred to as prismatic loops [3], that is, they possess only edge-type and no screw type segments.

The special forms consist of the many types of anode which are used for protecting smaller containers. Boilers, heat exchangers and condensers belong to this group. Besides the rod anodes already mentioned with tube screw joints which can be screwed into the container from outside, there are also short and round anode supports as well as more or less flat ball segments which are bolted onto the protected surface with cast-on supports. These shapes are mostly manufactured from magnesium alloys. In addition, there are star-shaped or circular anodes for installation in condensers and pipes. The weight of these anodes lies between 0.1 and 1 kg. 

Welin Screw. A type of gun-breech screw which has the surface divided into a number of segments which are struck with varying radii. The number of plain segments is less than half the total number, varying from one-third to one-quarter. Thus, the screw can be entered into the breech and locked by a fraction of a turn which corresponds to the number of segments eg, the Brit 6-inch Gun Mk 7 screw had four threaded and two plain segments, and it was locked in place with one-sixth of a turn...

The majority of these parameters are closely interrelated, and the key to obtaining a quality product is to find the best combination of three different types of extraders, namely dry extruders, segmented single-screw extruders, and interrupted flight extraders/expanders, which are discussed in this chapter. 

There are mainly two types of wet extruders that are being used to process soybeans (1) segmented single-screw extruders and (2) interrupted flight extmders/ expanders. 

In Figure 16.6 a very interesting effect may be observed. Three chains of loops have been left behind two segments of screw dislocations. These moved in the slip plane (110). Dislocations have the Burgers vector b = a /2/2(il0 theloopsareof the vacancy type. One can also see helicoids.
